UVOC is a method that affects the blood with light quanta from the ultraviolet part of the spectrum. The method has been used in medicine for more than 80 years. In 1928, V. Hancock and E. Knott first performed several extracorporeal UVOC treatments on a mother dying of sepsis. The amount of irradiated blood was 100-120 ml. The patient was cured. The mechanism of action of irradiated blood on humans is complex and multifaceted. Until now, there is no unified theory about the effect of UVI on the human body, however, scientists have proven that the bactericidal activity of the blood increases sharply as a result of UVI and toxic substances and enzymes are inactivated through their oxidation. In the second stage, the function of the blood cells in the irradiated blood is activated and a large number of non-specific immunity factors are released. As a result of quantum energy, new surfactants are formed on the surface of erythrocytes, changing the electrical charge of the membrane, which ensures a decrease in blood viscosity and an increase in oxygen capacity.

The reorganization of the body's immune system occupies a certain place in the therapeutic effect of UVOC.
